Emirati Company Masdar to implement 4GW solar energy station in Egypt

The Egyptian Cabinet approved a proposal submitted by the Emirati company Masdar regarding the start of studies to implement a project for a solar energy station with a production capacity of up to 4 gigawatts.

The Cabinet has also approved the advancement of multiple steps to carry out a project by the company, aiming to integrate solar energy capabilities totaling 1,200 megawatts.

 Furthermore, this encompasses the incorporation of storage batteries with a combined capacity of 240 megawatt hours.

The cabinet also has given the green light for the progression of diverse protocols for executing renewable energy initiatives put forth by the Empower company, a subsidiary of the Emirati Al Nowais Investment Group.

This includes ventures suggested for integrating storage batteries, whether as supplements to solar energy schemes or as standalone projects.

It was noted that these various efforts come within the framework of working to meet the needs for electrical energy, and to enable the operation of many additional capacities by next summer.
