PM chairs first meeting of ministerial group for industrial development

Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, chaired the first meeting of the ministerial group for industrial development, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir.

The Prime Minister has reaffirmed the importance given to the industrial sector, with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi emphasizing that industrialization is among the top priorities of the state.

The government is fully committed to supporting a ministerial group responsible for industrial development, encompassing all aspects from licensing to operationalization.

Madbouly has assigned the ministerial group the task of closely monitoring recently approved industrial projects. This entails overseeing the implementation steps and ensuring swift operationalization.

El-Wazir explained the group's forthcoming work mechanisms. Their responsibilities include implementing the national industrial development strategy, as well as stimulating and encouraging direct private investment in the industrial sector.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development presented an overview of the status of industrial lands across the country.

 The report encompassed 66 areas under the New Urban Communities Authority, 31 areas under governorates, 17 areas under the General Authority for Industrial Development, 14 areas under the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, 11 areas under the Ministry of Industry, in addition to four areas under the General Authority for the Economic Zone, and two areas under the National Investment Bank.
