PM highlights key takeaways & future goals at Egypt-EU Investment Conference

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly concluded the Egypt-EU Investment Conference with a resounding message of optimism following two days of discussions and agreements. 

"I am pleased to announce today that the conference witnessed the signing of 29 agreements and Memoranda of Understanding worth 49 billion euros with companies affiliated with the European Union. Additionally, 6 agreements and Memoranda of Understanding worth 18.7 billion euros were signed with alliances and companies, whether non-EU European or from different nationalities, to export to the European Union," Madbouly said commending the success of the conference.

In his keynote address, Madbouly reiterated Egypt's commitment to economic reform and its profound belief in strengthening ties with the European Union. He emphasized the critical importance of translating these signed agreements into tangible projects that will bolster the Egyptian economy, attract foreign direct investment, and generate employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.

Madbouly emphasized the government's dedication to achieving its ambitious development plans and expressed hope for the European Union to play an active role in this transformative journey.

The Prime Minister called for sustained dialogue and collaboration between Egyptian and European counterparts to ensure the successful implementation of the agreements. Looking ahead, Madbouly announced plans for the second edition of the conference, scheduled for 2025, underscoring Egypt's commitment to fostering a robust and enduring partnership with the EU.

The conference was held on June 29-30, 2024 in Cairo and co-organized by the European Union and the Egyptian government, marked a significant milestone in bilateral economic relations.
