President Sisi

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi affirmed on Saturday that the world is facing successive international and regional crises casting severe negative shadows and economic burdens on all countries, necessitating support and coordination between Egypt and its partners in Europe.

During his speech at the opening of the Egypt-EU Investment Conference in Cairo, he added that relations between Egypt and the European Union are witnessing positive developments in various fields of cooperation.

He emphasized that this progress was crowned by the signing the declaration elevating relations between the two sides to the level of a comprehensive and strategic partnership last March.

Sisi stated that the conference represents the first executive step in the process of elevating relations, reflecting Egypt and the European Union's commitment to move from commitments to implementation.

President el-Sisi further mentioned that European investments estimated at approximately €5 billion are expected, alongside investment guarantees worth €1.8 billion for the private sector.

This contributes to increasing foreign direct investment and enabling the European business community to benefit from available investment opportunities in Egypt, he pointed out.

He noted that this simultaneously enhances the European Union's position as the foremost trade and investment partner of the Egyptian economy.

He highlighted that the strategic partnership between Egypt and the European Union covers six axes, prioritizing cooperation in various economic sectors including trade, energy and infrastructure, sustainable transport, agriculture, food security, digital transformation, water security, water and sanitation networks, as well as small, medium, and micro projects.

Sisi elaborated that Egypt has proven to be a reliable partner in facing common challenges, achieving security, and stability in our regional neighborhood.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi inaugurated this morning the Egypt-EU Investment Conference at the Manara International Conferences Center in New Cairo.

The conference, themed "Unlocking Egypt's Advantages in a Fast-Changing World" will delve into Egypt's economic potential, including its business prospects.

High-level sessions and dialogues will enrich discussions during the conference at Al Manara International Conference Center in Cairo on June 29-30.

This conference  followed a recent agreement with the International Monetary Fund on a complementary reform program to the previous one, and Egypt's conclusion of its largest deal in history, the "Ras Al-Hikma Deal," which is expected to attract investments exceeding $150 billion over the project's lifetime.

It also serves as a platform for dialogue to transfer the successful European investment experience to Egypt, allowing Egypt to benefit from Europe's diverse economy. This will drive Egypt to diversify its investments and not rely on a single sector, thereby increasing the economy's resilience.
