Volume of trade exchange bet. Egypt & Jordan hits $864M in 2023

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan amounted to $864 million in 2023, indicating a decrease from the previous year's figure of $990 million, revealed the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The report from CAPMAS further revealed that Egyptian exports to Jordan during 2023 amounted to $658 million, showing a decline from the previous year's value of $732 million.

Examining the specific goods exported from Egypt to Jordan in 2023, some notable items included fuel and mineral oils worth $107 million, vegetable, fruit, and food preparations valued at $73.4 million, vegetables and fruits worth $60.6 million, machinery and electrical appliances amounting to $40.6 million, and ready-made clothing with a value of $41 million.

On the other hand, Egyptian imports from Jordan in 2023 were valued at $206 million, which is lower compared to the $259 million recorded in 2022.

Regarding goods imported by Egypt from Jordan in 2023, significant groups included fertilizers valued at $105.6 million, pharmaceutical products worth $21.8 million, plastics and their products amounting to $16 million, and various commodity groups with a total value of $48.6 million.

Furthermore, Jordanian investments in Egypt during the fiscal year 2022/2023 were valued at $134 million, showing an increase from the previous fiscal year's value of $119 million.

 Conversely, Egyptian investments in Jordan amounted to $183.6 million in 2022/2023, indicating a decrease from the figure of $226.2 million recorded in 2021/2022.
