Egypt's total agricultural exports exceeded 4.5 million tons of agricultural products during 2024, with a value of about 2.6 billion dollars, an increase of half a billion dollars over 2023, Minister of Agriculture, El Sayed El Quseir announced.

El Quseir confirmed that this represented an increase of 400 thousand tons over last year.

El Quseir added that the citrus fruits accounted for a total of 1,978,112 tons in agricultural exports, along with an additional 862,226 tons from potatoes.

Onions were exported at a quantity of 96,286 tons, while beans followed in fourth place with a total of 82,333 tons.

Grapes secured a total export quantity of 42,320 tons. Egypt's tomato exports amounted to 37,325 tons.

Strawberry exports amounted to 21,224 tons. Garlic followed in ninth place, with exports reaching 15,288 tons.

Guava secured the tenth position, with a total quantity of 10,071 tons. Lastly, pomegranates had the lowest export quantity, with a total of 9,134 tons.

Earlier in June, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated that Egypt’s trade balance deficit narrowed to $2.37 billion in March 2024, marking a significant 23.2% decrease from the same period last year when it stood at $3.09 billion.

Export figures for March 2024 showed a decline of 10.9%, with total exports amounting to $3.57 billion, down from $4.0 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year. This decline was attributed to reduced values of various commodities.
