Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly reinforces government support for industrial growth during visit to Beko Egypt factory.
Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, along with his entourage, visited the "Beko Egypt" home appliances factory today during his inspection tour in the Tenth of Ramadan Industrial City.
During the tour, Prime Minister Madbouly reiterated the government's commitment to providing various forms of support and facilitation required for the full completion and operational commencement of the Beko factory, aiming to contribute to providing home appliances for both the local market and export.
The factory, covering a total area of 114,000 square meters, represents a significant investment of over $100 million, with Turkish investments, making it one of the first industrial facilities to receive Egypt's Gold License, expediting project implementation.
Ahmed Bahgat, Director of Beko Egypt, highlighted the company's gratitude to the Egyptian government for its continuous support in simplifying procedures and overcoming any obstacles faced by investors, stressing the company's dedication to Egypt's 2030 vision for sustainable development.
During the visit, Prime Minister Madbouly inspected the different production lines, including gas cookers and a trial line for refrigerator production, emphasizing the company's commitment to using modern technology in line with the state's efforts in industrial localization and foreign investment support.
Munis Abdelhalim, Production Engineering Manager at the factory, mentioned that the first phase of production is nearing completion, focusing on eco-friendly, energy-efficient refrigerators, with a production capacity of around 1.2 million units annually, aligning with Egypt's comprehensive development and transition to a green economy.
Furthermore, Beko Egypt aims to develop environmental systems for local suppliers and establish a research and development center to transfer knowledge to the local market, supporting the government's industrial localization strategy and positioning Egypt as a manufacturing and export hub.
The factory's officials informed the Prime Minister that the first batch of products, including top-quality ovens manufactured using the latest technology, is ready for distribution, showcasing them to 100 commercial partners from across the Middle East and Africa recently.
Beko has been operating in the Egyptian market for ten years and plans to expand to 750 showrooms and 83 customer service centers nationwide, investing in innovation and development to meet the needs and aspirations of its customers in line with Egypt's national vision.
