This morning, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, embarked on an inspection tour of several factories in the 10th of Ramadan City, accompanied by Engineer Ahmed Sameer, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Hussam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones. The tour began with a visit to the Haier industrial complex for home appliance manufacturing.

During the tour, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the importance of conducting such inspections to push forward industrial projects and address challenges facing investors. He highlighted the pivotal role of the industrial sector in driving national economic growth and development.

Prime Minister Madbouly stated that the state aims to meet Egypt's market demand for various products through the industrial sector, alongside localizing different industries. He stressed the government's reliance on the private sector as a key partner in developmental projects.

The Haier industrial complex, introduced by Engineer Ahmed Elgendy, General Manager of the company, is part of the global Haier Corporation, established in 1984. It has garnered numerous international awards for home appliance production and operates in over 200 countries, serving more than 3 billion consumers.

The Egyptian branch of Haier, established in 2019, serves as a regional hub for manufacturing and exporting to the Middle East and Africa. In early 2022, in coordination with the parent company in China, Haier launched a significant investment plan to establish an integrated industrial complex in Egypt, aligning with Egypt's sustainable development vision for 2030.

Prime Minister Madbouly and his delegation toured the Haier complex, learning about its investment plan and project implementation stages from Engineer Ahmed Elgendy. They witnessed the trial operation and quantitative production of televisions and air conditioners, which began on March 1st.

Elgendy explained that the total investment in the Haier complex amounts to $135 million in foreign direct investment, covering an area of 200,000 square meters. The first phase includes four factories for the production of televisions, washing machines, air conditioners, and related components, with an annual production capacity of one million units, 30% of which are for export.

The second phase includes the production of refrigerators and freezers, with investments of $60 million and an annual production capacity of over half a million units. Additionally, the complex houses factories for metal forming, plastic injection, and paints to control production inputs and ensure high-quality products at competitive prices.

Since Prime Minister Madbouly's visit to the complex in November last year, and with continuous government support, Haier has added a new production line for central air conditioners. The company is currently considering investing in a complex to produce high-capacity central air conditioners with additional separate investments.
