The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has issued identical letters to Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Zhang Jun, the Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China and President of the current session of the UN Security Council. In these letters, Aboul Gheit expressed deep concern regarding the recent statement by the Israeli Minister of Heritage, who suggested that "the dropping of a nuclear bomb on Gaza is one of the options to be considered" amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against the 2.2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated that Aboul Gheit's letters carried strong criticism of these statements. They emphasized that "this fascist language, coming from a member of the Israeli government, as insane as it may sound, reveals the extent of extremism and bias deeply rooted within Israeli authorities.

"In light of a government adopting such ideological delusions and ingrained hatred, it is not surprising that we witness appalling massacres committed daily against innocent civilians in Gaza."

Aboul Gheit made it clear in his letters that it is not merely the Israeli Minister's acknowledgment of possessing nuclear weapons, a revelation in stark contradiction with international law, but these statements also expose a racist perspective and dangerous intentions by some Israeli officials. These officials advocate using weapons of mass destruction as a strategic choice and incite further war crimes.

The official spokesperson added that the letters included a strong reference to "the consistent Arab stance on the necessity of establishing a nuclear-free zone and the elimination of all weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East. Achieving this goal should be pursued at the earliest opportunity."

In conclusion, Aboul Gheit appealed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and through him to the UN member states and international agencies, "to shoulder their responsibility in promptly ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank and holding Israel accountable for all the violations and crimes it has committed."

He warned that allowing this unjust war to continue for even one more day will sow the seeds of hatred and extremism in the region for years to come. He urged the President of the Security Council, and through him the Security Council member states, "not to underestimate or trivialize the extremist Israeli statement and its concealed criminal intentions." Aboul Gheit emphasized that the threat of using nuclear weapons constitutes a direct threat to international peace and security, and the Security Council has a serious duty to address this matter.
