Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, addressing the 'Hikayat Watan' (Homeland's Story) conference today, emphasized Egypt's vision to transform into a global logistics hub, underlining the critical need for a robust infrastructure to expedite the movement of goods worldwide.
Madbouly pointed out that the cornerstone of this vision is the expansion of the Suez Canal.
The 'Hikayat Watan' conference, attended by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, ministers, politicians, youth representatives, media professionals, and community leaders, commenced in the esteemed Masa Hall in the New Administrative Capital.
The conference aims to showcase Egypt's achievements across various sectors.
Prime Minister Madbouly underscored that Egypt's transformation into a genuine global logistics center necessitates a foundational infrastructure capable of swiftly transporting goods to every corner of the world.
He emphasized the pivotal role of the Suez Canal expansion project in this endeavor.
Madbouly remarked that the doubling of the Suez Canal's capacity had eliminated the need for alternative routes, dispelling earlier doubts and significantly reducing waiting times for ships.
Furthermore, he noted that the East Port Said Port now ranks tenth globally, further enhancing Egypt's logistics capabilities.
Prime Minister Madbouly also provided insights into Egypt's development efforts. He stated that the government has invested over EGP 9.4 trillion in various projects, constituting 22% of the country's GDP.
The investments have been distributed across all regions of Egypt, leaving no area untouched by development initiatives.
Madbouly emphasized that the key difference lies in the desire and will to turn plans and visions into actionable projects aimed at nation-building.
He stressed that he would present the plans and their on-ground implementation during the conference.
In his address, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi outlined that the primary objective of the Suez Canal expansion was not solely economic but aimed at restoring public trust.
He stated, "The idea was not just to double the canal's capacity for economic purposes, but it was about regaining people's trust."
The President reflected on Egypt's history, recalling moments when they welcomed the families of martyrs and shed tears for their sacrifices.
He reaffirmed the nation's unwavering commitment to honor those who gave their lives for Egypt's well-being.
