A recent report published by the Information and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet (IDSC) revealed that Egypt dominates approximately half of the world's jasmine production.

With the global production of jasmine estimated at around 14 tons, Egypt accounts for about 7 tons.

The report highlighted that an astounding 75% of jasmine production originates from a single village. According to the data, the village of "Shibra Belula Al-Sakhawia" contributes approximately 4 tons to the total jasmine output.

Situated in the Qutur district of the Gharbia Governorate, this village has gained recognition for its expertise in jasmine cultivation.

Jasmine flowers are widely utilized in the manufacturing of various perfumes, including renowned brands.

Experts note that despite the significance of jasmine flowers in the production of global perfumes, their market price remains notably low, largely due to competition with India.

Furthermore, the report emphasized that the village annually processes tons of jasmine flowers. "Shibra Belula Al-Sakhawia" stands as the most densely populated village for jasmine production in Egypt, with its inhabitants primarily relying on it for their livelihoods.
