Egypt's industrial sector witnesses rigorous inspection, compliance efforts

A recent report from the Ministry of Industry and Trade has revealed the impressive achievements of the Industrial and Commercial Regulatory Authority (ICRA) in conducting a staggering 120,991 inspection campaigns over a span of nine years.

These campaigns encompassed various sectors, including 30,285 inspections on boilers and thermal machinery, 82,331 inspections on the quality of industrial products, 8,375 inspections on service centers and their accreditation, and 1,481 diversified regulatory campaigns on factories and service centers to ensure product quality.

The report further highlights that ICRA has conducted 33,646 temporary drawbacks and tolerance cases studies, along with 86,443 diverse technical studies.

Additionally, it issued 35,354 licenses and permits for the management of steam boilers and thermal machinery, and granted 380 registration permits for printing presses engaged in packaging and packaging materials.

Furthermore, ICRA issued 60 licenses for the transportation and disposal of industrial waste and hazardous materials. Notably, a total of 9,538 complaints were examined, resulting in the withdrawal of 7,611 samples for further examination and testing.

This comprehensive and meticulous approach by ICRA demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ensure the quality and safety of industrial products.
